Buying

How do I pay for a part?

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Click “Buy now” on any listing and you'll be taken to a Stripe-hosted checkout page. We accept all major credit and debit cards. Your card details never touch our servers.

Total at checkout = listing price + 1% buyer protection fee. The protection fee is what funds the rules below — it's the difference between Clutchyard and a general classifieds site. It's non-refundable, even on a full refund or a dispute won in your favor (using the protection system is what it paid for).

What protects me as a buyer?

Five layers of protection, all enforced automatically:

  • Escrow on every order. Your payment sits in the Clutchyard balance — the seller doesn't see a penny until delivery is confirmed.
  • Ship deadline. If the seller doesn't mark the order shipped with real tracking within 7 days of your payment, you get a full refund automatically.
  • Real-tracking validation. If the carrier never confirms receiving the package within 5 days of marking shipped, you get a full refund. Fake tracking numbers don't work.
  • Lost-in-transit cover. If tracking goes silent for 14+ days with no delivered scan, we treat the package as lost and refund you.
  • 48-hour dispute window after delivery. Open the box, inspect the part. If it's not as described, file a dispute with photos within 48 hours. We review it ourselves — not an algorithm — and rule fairly.

What if the part isn't as described?

You have 48 hours from delivery to file a dispute from the order page. Upload photos showing the issue, write a short description, and submit. The order is frozen until we review it.

For minor issues, contacting the seller through the messaging system first usually resolves things faster. For anything that warrants a partial or full refund, the dispute system is the right path.

What if the seller never ships?

Sellers have 7 days from your payment to mark the order shipped with a real tracking number. If they don't, the order auto-cancels and you're refunded in full. You don't need to do anything.

What if my package gets lost in the mail?

Tracking is monitored automatically. If the carrier scans the package as accepted but then nothing updates for 14+ days with no delivered scan, we treat it as lost in transit and refund you in full.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping itself is arranged between buyer and seller — check the listing or message the seller for an estimate. Once the carrier confirms delivery, you have a 48-hour window to confirm receipt or open a dispute. After that, the seller is paid.

Can I buy internationally?

That's up to each seller. Some ship internationally, some don't. Check the listing or message the seller to ask before buying.

Selling

How do I list a part?

Create a free account, then click "Sell" in the navbar. You'll fill in the part details, add photos, set a price and shipping info, then publish. Your listing goes live immediately.

How much does it cost to sell?

Listing is free. When a sale completes, Clutchyard takes a flat 5% + $0.30 per sale(deducted from your payout). That's all-in — payment processing is included, no separate Stripe deduction on your end. Buyers also pay a 1% protection fee at checkout on top of your asking price.

Example: list a part for $100 — buyer pays $101, you receive $94.70.

How do I get paid?

Connect a Stripe account from your dashboard. Funds release once the carrier's tracking shows delivered and a 48-hour buyer dispute window passes — Clutchyard reads the tracking scan automatically. The buyer can also confirm received early, which releases your payout immediately. From there it's typically 1–2 business days to your bank.

Three deadlines protect both sides:

  • 7 days from payment to mark the order shipped with a real tracking number, or it auto-cancels and the buyer is refunded.
  • 5 days from marking shipped for the carrier to register an acceptance scan, or it auto-cancels.
  • 14 days with no tracking updates after the carrier scanned the package = treated as lost in transit, buyer refunded.

Can I edit or remove a listing?

Yes. You can edit a listing at any time from your dashboard or from the listing page itself. You can also mark it as sold or remove it entirely.

What can I sell here?

Used and new motorcycle parts and accessories. See our prohibited items list for what's not allowed. Complete bikes are not permitted — parts only.

Accounts & platform

Is my account information secure?

Authentication and session management is handled by Supabase Auth. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. Payment details are stored exclusively by Stripe — we never see your full card number.

How do I report a problem with a user?

Use the report button in any message thread or contact us at support@clutchyard.com. We review all reports and take action on confirmed violations of our community guidelines.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Email us at support@clutchyard.com and we'll delete your account and personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Note that completed order records may be retained for legal and accounting purposes.
