Seller guidelines
How to sell well and keep buyers coming back.
Sellers are fully responsible for the accuracy of their listings, the condition of parts shipped, and communicating honestly with buyers. Violations may result in listing removal or account suspension.
Listings
Every listing must accurately represent what you're selling. Buyers rely on your description to make purchasing decisions — misleading listings damage trust and will be removed.
- Use your own photos — at least one clear photo of the actual part you're selling, not a stock image.
- Describe the condition honestly. If it has scratches, cracks, or wear, say so.
- Select the correct condition tier: New, Like New, Good, Fair, or Poor.
- Specify the exact bike fitment — make, model, and year range. If you're unsure, say so in the description.
- List the price in the currency you intend to transact in.
- If you know the OEM part number, include it — it helps buyers verify compatibility.
- Set shipping costs upfront. "Contact seller" is acceptable but expect fewer inquiries.
Communication
- Respond to buyer messages promptly — within 24 hours where possible.
- Be honest about part availability. If a part sells, mark it as sold immediately.
- Don't negotiate in bad faith. If you agree to a price, honour it.
- Keep all communication on Clutchyard — it protects both parties.
Shipping
- Pack parts securely. You are responsible for the item arriving in the described condition.
- Ship within 3 business days of a confirmed sale unless otherwise agreed.
- Provide tracking information to the buyer as soon as it's available.
- Use appropriate packaging — fragile parts should be bubble-wrapped and boxed.
- If shipping internationally, you are responsible for accurate customs declarations.
After the sale
- If a buyer contacts you with a problem, respond promptly and in good faith.
- Refund or replace parts that are materially different from their listing description.
- Do not ignore buyer messages after payment — this will result in account action.
What will get your listing removed
- Listing prohibited items (see our prohibited items page).
- Using stock photos or photos of a different part.
- Misrepresenting condition, fitment, or part number.
- Listing the same part multiple times (duplicate listings).
- Artificially inflating prices to absorb platform fees.
- Completing transactions off-platform to avoid fees.
